The Environment: Dedicated to preservation
Chanterelle Inn & Restaurant is renowned for its sustainable food sourcing, and its limited carbon footprint. Everything about the Chanterelle was built with our pristine environment, our local community and your comfort in mind. We are dedicated to conservation of energy, reduction of waste, recycling materials, and doing our business in a way that negatively affects our environment the least.
We try to have a small footprint on the environment as for example using environmentally friendly and non-artificially scented cleaning products, using recycled paper products or opting for reusable options such as cloth napkins or hand towels where possible.
In our kitchen we use as many locally sourced products as we can and prefer to buy from small farms, growers and producers to support our direct neighbours. We aim for a low to no waste kitchen.
For over 25 years we’ve worked hard to build a comfortable, environmentally safe property that’s welcomed thousands of guests. There is no A/C in the rooms as part of our effort to conserve energy. The Inn’s rooms don’t have TV’s but we do have plenty of books in our library downstairs that you’re welcome to peruse!
