Golf Vacation Package



Play both the Highlands Links and Bell Bay---two of the best golf courses in Canada! And the Chanterelle is half-way between them!

The package includes:

  • Green fees for Highlands Links and Bell Bay
  • Power cart
  • Two night's accommodation at the Chanterelle Country Inn
  • Buffet breakfast each morning
  • Four course "Slow Food" dinner for 2 with a bottle of Nova Scotia wine

Off-season rates (May, June, October) begin at $400 CDN plus HST per person, based on double occupancy. High season rates (July, August, September) begin at $450 plus HST per person, based on double occupancy

Fins, Fur & Feathers Vacation Package


Visit the original inhabitants of Cape Breton Island--- the birds, the seals, the whales --- in their natural environments. Available May 15-September 15.

The package includes:
  • Three Half-day tours with knowledgeable guides for whale watching and marine and shore birding.
  • Visit to the Two Rivers Wildlife Park
  • Lunches for each day
  • Accommodations at the Chanterelle Inn for three nights
  • Buffet breakfast each morning
  • Three-course “Slow Food” dinner for one evening with a bottle of Nova Scotia wine.

Fall Fungi Foray and Feast Vacation Package


Available September 5, 6 and 7 - 2008

Join in the hunt for Cape Breton's delectable fall fungi with noted mycologist Kent Mullins! Then learn how to identify the most succulent. And best of all, how to prepare and cook them---in sautés, pates, soups, etc., etc. etc. Explore the intriguing world of Cape Breton's elusive wild mushrooms then feast on your 'catch'!

Package includes:
  • Two nights accommodations with buffet breakfast
  • All-day foray and lunch with Kent Mullins, noted Nova Scotian mycologist
  • Two four-course dinners prepared in the Slow Food tradition with wine---one a fungi feast!
  • Cape Breton Fungi Slide presentation and discussion
  • Fungi preparation and hands-on cooking class

Event Vacation Packages

Lobster Boil  - Every Friday night (weather permitting) from June 1-July 15, we will have a lobster boil at our Gazebo on the Harbour. It will include fresh garden salad and vegetables and desserts. The lobsters are between 1 ½  and 2 lbs. Cost:Prix-fixe Market

Field, Farm and Foraging Vacation Package 
- September 12, 19 & 26  -  2008

Discover the Bounty of Cape Breton and create a culinary delight from your findings. Join in a tour of local food sources: select vegetables from an organic gardener, visit a farm, forage for the wild mushrooms, or fish for fresh mussels in St. Ann's Harbour. Then return to the Inn to design a menu around the ingredients and prepare a feast with the assistance of the Chanterelle's Chef. Cost: $95 per person plus HST. Includes lunch and dinner. (Minimum participants:  4)

Cape Breton through the Eons Vacation Package
- Dates: (weather permitting) June 18 & 25  July 2 & 16. 


Join geologist Fenton Eisnor for a half-day walking tour of the North River Valley and St. Ann's Harbour to discover the ancient history of Cape Breton. Learn to identify geologic clues to unravel the mystery of the origins of the region. (Parts of this island were once at the equator!) Then visit the fossil Museum in Sydney Mines. Mr. Eisnor is Professor of Geology at Cape Breton University. Then Cost: $75 per person plus HST. Includes lunch and ticket to the Fossil Museum. (minimum participants – 4)
